Who we are?

Greeting from the Major of Spoleto to the students of Spoletium	Spoletium and how to experience Italy from its very heart.
Spoleto is a beautiful medieval city with a population of about 40000 and it is located at the bottom of Monteluco, a sacred mountain since Roman times. Spoleto is in Umbria, the center most region of Italy, it is also known as " the green heart of Italy" due to the abundance of nature and the shades of green which colour its beautiful landscape throughout the whole year. Umbria maintains its wild nature and is thus extremely evocative. Spoleto's geographical position is optimal for the visitor. The city is situated only 120km north of Rome and just 200 km south of Florence. The ancient city streets, the patricians palazzi, the roman and medieval monuments together with the churches which stand at every corner, all these beauties, make Spoleto one of the most ancient and most interesting historical cities in Italy, absolutely worth visiting. Spoleto, which is also considered to be " the cultural capital of Umbria" has a wide variety of museums to suit all interests: the Casa Romana (Roman House), the Museo Archeologico Nazionale (National Museum of Archeology), the Pinacoteca comunale ( city's art-gallery) ) inside the Palazzo Collicola (1700) is the Galleria Comunale di Arte moderna (the gallery of modern art), the Museo Diocesano (museum Diocesano),the Museo del Tessuto antico (textiles Museum) and finally the Rocca Albornoziana (fortress Albornoziana) which, sited above the acropoli (ancient city), overlooks onto the whole of Spoleto. Due to its rural origins Spoleto has maintained, to the present day, its original colours, flavors and tastes in all its aspects although this is mostly true in its gastronomical delicatessen. Typical products of the city range from the extra virgin olive oil, the black truffles of spoleto to its red and white wines. Cultural and art events are also another fundamental aspect of Spoleto. These attract all sorts of visitors throughtout the course of the year either with prestigiuous exhibits or city festivals which take place in all seasons. One can take pleasure by admiring and participationg in the dances, concerts and theatrical that take place in the city's streets during the yearly festivals when the whole town turns into a living artistic and cultural experience. When arriving in Spoleto it is normal to be taken aback by its unexpected beauty , elegance and charm. You too will be experience such feelings by visiting a truly historical city, and be thrown directly into its artistic and yet traditional life. Massimo Brunini Major of Spoleto	We are a dinamic and active group of young language teachers from Spoleto. We specialize in languages and the study of language-related literary subjects. We teach Italian in Italy and abroad, specifically in Germany and Japan. Our goal is to provide you with a studing experience in one of the ancient capitals of Italy, Spoleto, and allow you to discover the culture and the beauty of our country through the usage of our language. In order to bring you such an experience we are ready to apply all our personal skills and knowledge in the teaching field, acquired both in italy and outside of it, with the help of some of the most modern didactics techniques. You will be able to learn the real language and you will soon achieve the basic linguistic abilities in order to "get by" in Italy , all without ever getting bored. If you are already familiar with the Italian language you will be able to improve your ability thanks to the help and support of highly qualified teachers. Parallel to the study schedule we will make sure to provide you with a thrilling experience by involving you in daily activities such as excursions to some of the most beautiful cities of central Italy, parties, Italian style eating, visits to vineyards, olive trees plantations, articrafts workshops and shopping centres. Our city is extremely hospitable and you will easily make friends and become fully involved in the true italian daily life. Cooking and other specialized courses will provide you a more direct impact with a true aspect of the italian life.
